Today we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Leonard Cohen Files. So little I knew about the future on September 3, 1995 when I launched the website!!! These have been years full of excitement and happenings that we could not even dream about twenty years ago! My sincere thanks to all and each of you for these decades. We will keep going for many more years!

Now it's time to announce the results of our Logo Competition. The results (and logos) are also posted at http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/logoresults.html

The quality of the logos sent to our competition took me by surprise. We received more than 50 logos from 25 participants. Heartfelt thanks to all of you, your hard work on the pictures is very much appreciated!

It wasn’t easy to select the winning artworks; instead of one “Top 1” logo, I have three! The list below is just my very personal opinion. I showed all the logos, after I had made my decisions, to ten local and international friends, and asked them to list their favourites. Their lists looked very different – they had no less than 7 candidates for the winner!

In the future we will see how and where we are going to use these new logos, on the website and elsewhere. Any of the top five logos – and several others – would look great on a T shirt, or coffee mug, to name a few ideas! (Don’t worry; I don’t plan to open an internet shop!).

Wow!
What an excellent selection of designs. I'm glad I didn't have to chose a winner.
Congratulations to all the artists and their great skills.

I'm currently listening to "Can't Forget" (also known in this house as "Sing Along With Leonard Cohen, very loudly and very badly"). I am so happy that this disc was shared with us.

Well done to all the entrants and, in particular, to the winners. There are some fabulous designs there.

It is also nice to see that one of the winning designs is similar to an idea I had running in my head but couldn't make a reality. At least my imagination was working along the right lines!

Hi Jarkko,
what a fantastic array of amazing designs, I am bowled over by the talents our members have.
I am of course disappointed to have not achieved greatness this time but I am honoured to sit in the Gallery of Beautiful Losers on this auspicious day. I wish you happiness and please, keep up the good work.

it would be interesting to see the 10 worst ones.

very engaging competition, and good to be a participant amongst so much creativity. you ought to do more of this type of thing, jarkko. sorry it's over; nothing to look forward to any more - feels like boxing day. please do another one - you will won't you? just do it.

Hello Jarkko, Eija, Rauli and all Fans

at the beginning of Jarkko big thank you for 20 years of work with us
and for this fantastic competition, that started so many creative minds :)
For me personally it was brilliant fun!
I'm not a graphic designer, not am I as a painter-artist. I had to necessarily focus only on photo-shooting (how limited my abilities regulations). But running around over my city and on the beach - with a camera in hand and with pockets full of different items, jewelry and pendants with signs of LC :) - these will be ones of these favourite moments which will stay in the memory forever. Especially because of the staring intently and curiously eyes encountered at that time people who "accosted" me and ask what I'm doing (drawing in the sand or arranging hats on the seafront, where waves they took me those hats "without permit " not one time hahaha My godson (and his girl) guarded so that crowds of people didn't tread our work out, but sea somehow could not discipline. One time waves also wanted to kidnap me into the depths of the sea hahaha . I had to change into a dry shirt and pants remained wet and caked with sand :) , but left a lot of fun pictures on souvenir.

Conclusion
And that's why I'm glad I'm not a graphic designer, or a painter-artist, because never in my life have survived this great "children's fun" , if I was sitting at a desk or at the console.

And this optimistic note I finish ...

So thank you Jarkko for this contest.
Heartily I congratulate all those who took part in the competition and those who have won the highest awards.

I wish you all a happy anniversary :)
Beata
