Which stage comes after 'cute'? - Aznavour gives the answer

Postby Hartmut » Wed Jul 22, 2015 3:26 am

Which stage comes after 'irresistible', 'resistible', 'transparent', 'invisible', 'repulsive', and 'cute'?

According to Charles Aznavour (91): 'Ikea', apparently.

"Charles Aznavour says 'Affairs? I'd rather go to Ikea'"

Thanks, Judy. Yes, it is.

And everybody else: Please don't let my mediocre joke about the connection between Leonard's 'cute' stage and Charles's 'Ikea' stage deter you from reading the article. It's really worth reading if you are interested in Monsieur Aznavour at all. You get to learn everything about his passion not only for Ikea, but also for swimming, computers, vacuum cleaners, Edith Piaf, Liza Minelli, Chinese dictionaries, and cosmetic surgery.

Lucky all of you who get the tickets to see this man. I would love to! I've been putting off reading the article until I had adequate time. I'm totally charmed by his frankness and honesty. Such a pleasure to read... and no doubt a pleasure to watch. Thanks so much for this, Hartmut!

You're welcome, Lizzy. :-)

I saw him two years ago; and yes, I counted myself lucky.

Have been considering going to see him this autumn- tickets still available
I think he's the sort of performer that will only continue if he's sure he can put on a good show , and from all i've read and seen he certainly can still do that .
At 91 that's close to a miracle, and it's a miracle i perhaps should witness.
What has been called his ' farewell world tour ' is now in its 9th year , starting when he was 82. An interesting precedent for leonard?

Not sure Leonard would put it the way Mr Aznavour has put it recently ;-)

"Si je ne travaille pas, je meurs" ...................If I do not work, I'll die.

The six dates (15th-27th September) available at the Palais des Sports de Paris hopefully look like being sold out.
I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2017 and fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.
