Hi John ~
I tried the link, but got nowhere near anything that would let me listen to something.....just kind of a link spelled out across a blank white page, but nothing that allowed you to click on it. Who knows the reason why......maybe others can go straight to it.
Thanks, anyway.....at least from me.

Anne,
Thanks for trying to help. I have Real Player already installed on my computer but do not know why the link would not respond the first time I tried to listen. On my second try, lo and behold, it worked.
And John, I liked it...especially the rendition of Famous Blue Raincoat. I laughed out loud at the end of that number. Thanks.
Lizzytysh, I know you will enjoy it too.

who breaks a butterfly upon a wheel?
i didn't realise arthur smith was a leonard fan until i read last week's issue of the stage newspaper where arthur says he was singing a leonard cohen song and a butterfly interrupted his act.
arthur has a weekly column in the stage but it doesn't appear to be online

arthur's web site is selling a CD : It contains some bits from Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen

Re: Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen
JP: Speaking of your music, how did the impression of Leonard Cohen come about?
AS: I always loved Leonard Cohen, and I’d done a show one year one year in Edinburgh called ‘Arthur Smith Sings Andy Williams’ – not that I particularly like Andy Williams, but I thought it was a funny title and it amused me.
It was actually a show about this guard figure I was interested in. Anyway, after that I thought I’d do another ‘Arthur Smith sings…’, genuinely because it sounded like such a grim show!
At that time Leonard Cohen wasn’t that fashionable, but he’s had a bit of a resurgence in fashionability lately…all down to me, I reckon! I actually came to sound a little bit like him in a way that I cannot sound like anyone else – essentially, he’s got a very limited range & can’t sing very well, so that suits me!
