Can't log in to chat off the Files, for some reason that eludes, and disremember how to log in via Messenger. Anybody else having probs? (I know of at least one other).

Parky,
have a look at this thread, where we've discussed it before. Your best bet is following the link there to the blosers webpage and using that page to login to the chatroom. Good luck!

Re: Sunday Night Scheduled Chat About 2008 Event
Some of the topics for the chat tonight at 8 pm GMT 3 pm EST:
Kamelia Djonova from Grande Prairie Alberta has agreed to be the point person for the fan writing part of the program booklet, submissions of poetry and prose can be sent to her at k.djonova@telus.net . The material from the Hydra event in 2002 is on http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com . From the Hydra event section on left sidebar:
Why we are coming to Hydra - contributions prior to the event.
We are planning something similar to that for Edmonton.
We have a large number of spoken word performances planned two as part of the Saturday program but we are also planning lectures by Ira Nadel, Doug Barbour, and Dr. Thomas Mueller who will speak on "Leonard Cohen's Medicine".
One could write a novel about the cafe at Citadel Theatre that will be turned into Leonard Cohen Cafe for the month of July. I was there tonight and it was really surreal, set up as a restaurant but with signage as a bar but with a prominently displayed children's food menu. Not mentioned anywhere on the building's website: http://www.citadeltheatre.com/index.php Clearly a place searching for an identity, nice that we can give it one for a month! Lol!
See you on chat tonight! - Kim

Re: Sunday Night Scheduled Chat About 2008 Event
So we are supposed to do homework and review the 2002 event booklet and go ("similar") from there?Kamelia Djonova from Grande Prairie Alberta has agreed to be the point person for the fan writing part of the program booklet, submissions of poetry and prose can be sent to her at k.djonova@telus.net . Do your local planners know more about this (prose/poetry submissions) than is being disclosed here? The fact that you have selected a point person sounds as if there might be more info existing in a local bubble...
And with the old Hydra theme, it seems that only those attending are qualified to submit. Is this the case for your event? If the theme is: "Why I'm going to Edmonton" that would surely be the case.
Thanks,
laurie

Re: Sunday Night Scheduled Chat About 2008 Event
Ah hah! Rules, rules! Yes there are actually four ladies involved in this fan writing section of the program book including at least one professional poet. So they will confer, decide on rules, and then reveal them here. So stay tuned!

Re: Sunday Night Scheduled Chat About 2008 Event
Chatting today in 5 minutes. Some details:
The Saturday Lineup: Peter Elkas, Roddy Hart, Darrell Scott, Ted Bishop
(spoken word), Tom Rush, Todd Babiuk (spoken word), Serena Ryder, Jann Arden
emceed by Kate Hammett-Vaughan
Friday night Vicky Hynes, Karla Anderson and Ann Vriend are in the hospitality suite. At the same time Peter Elkas, Roddy Hart, Darrell Scott, and Tom Rush will be doing a "songwriter in the round" performance at the Masonic Hall with own tunes and some Cohen. We assume most fan registrants will opt for Vicky Hynes, Karla Anderson and Ann Vriend that night.
Now that LC tour details have been announced registrations for our event have picked up again. The list is not real time, but requires human intervention, so there is a delay in posted registrant list. We are limited to 300 registrants. Leonard is giving a very special gift, I think better than he has ever given, and there will only be 300 of them. 300 also is about the capacity of hospitality room etc. His art will be on display here also, really nice the synchronicity of that!
The house band is going to be amazing! Drummer Gary Craig from Anne Murray's band has signed on with enthusiasm http://www.brucecockburn.org/interview_ ... _craig.htm Darrell Scott is also awesome! http://www.darrellscott.com/
Thanks! - Kim
