A collaboration between acclaimed singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen and renowned American composer Philip Glass will be a highlight of the New Zealand International Arts Festival in Wellington next year.

Blonde Madonna

Thanks for the link. Lorca's picture of her dad with Phillip Glass is great!

Note: Leonard Cohen will not appear in person
I see they got that clarification addressed up front.

Yes ~ Lorca's photo is great. Symbolism of the complexity of Philip's musical life or their musical lives appears to be in the background. It appears to have been taken at Philip's house in his music room. Leonard tipping his hat to Glass. Great photo.

The photo was also used in Lincoln Center promotions -- and I too like it.
Am I the only one who is unable to find a date for the New Zealand event? Even tried buying a ticket...... :)

Dick, the first four acts have only just been announced and tickets are not on sale yet (I think some time in October they will be available) but if you click on the 'become a friend' link they will alert you by email.

It's four in the morning, the end of July,
I have that look once again in my eye,
it's a look I only occasionally harbour,
does anyone know where I'd find a good barber?
Sincerely,
P Glass :?

Where is YdF to tell us they look like two old, white men who have been out on the piss and are now trying to look sober and serious for a daughter (I know that look well myself)? Are you 'up for it' Red Poppy?

Ah Red Poppy, the more relevant question is, are you a true red? :)

That's OK, I no longer worry about reds under the bed.
Now there's the more pressing concern of Arabs in the attic.

Who was it that said "Give me back the Berlin wall/give me Stalin and St Paul"?

Watch out, I seem to veer into way too serious without any warning signs. My elected government is currently holding a man in detention all because a SIM card with his name on it was found in Liverpool (not a burning vehicle at Glasgow Airport). This type of hysteria about suspected terrorists is frightening. :? It is obviously not a joking matter.
