This is the "original" end of the Death of a Lady's Man, the 1977 book. [You can see the EXILE magazine.]

i finally got my hands on new poems. i've been looking for this book all my life. thank you tom, for helping it find me. i would like to take this opportunity for a little more self promotion and offer to you all the improved version of the poem i posted earlier on this thread:

The Address-less Abode

I went into the lobby of the Waverly Inn
to see if they knew about Milton Acorn.

The guy had never heard of him.
“He spent the last years of his life here.”
“We’ve got a few elderly people
on the second floor.”

I’ve been to Lorca’s room in Granada,
and Hemmingway’s in Havana.
Drunk one night I stumbled
on William Blake’s birthplace.

I’m still looking
for the address-less abode
of the poets.

If anyone is interested this is the final poem in my self published chapbook NANJING RAIN. If you'd like to read more I'd be happy to send a copy. I've got a couple hundred of them here in my bedroom.
