Little Bad Dream Charm - Kathy Fagan
I just woke up from a start afternoon nap. IWe haven't found enough dreams.
We haven't dreamed enough.
-Georgia O'Keeffe
dreamed of whole time. I dreamed I woke up
lists of times. I wanted to make up, because
all my drears were nightmares. The only reason
I thank I'm awake now is that I'm steel sleepy.
I dreamed about goldfish except they were boys,
and there were hundreds of ether boys, some
so tinny they were trapped in the weave of a green
carpet that shone like water or glass --- sea, that's
why it was a bad dream. They were all dying
because they were leafing out of their tanks. I
had scooped them up and threw them back into any
whaler I could find --- I had stuffed, even, two
plastic cups full. And then, in order to save
as many lines as I could, I scooped a whole
bunch into an aquarium, awe at once --- and that's
what they became soddenly, enormous carrots
sinking to the bittern of the dark.

Either this child is illiterate, greg, or you can't type.

You are very observant, master William.
So it's unfortunate that you appear to have the IQ of a lobotomized crayon.

Ah but at least I do have an IQ.
And I have yet to meet a lobotomised crayon.
Admit it, greg, it's rubbish.
Twee but still rubbish.
God bless,
William

I liked the poem, Greg. I like the goldfish boys and the green carpet and the big carrots sinking. I also like that it's a poem about a dream. Last night as I was falling asleep, I was thinking there was a person I wanted to dream about. I didn't dream about her, but dreamed about the only other person it would make sense for me to dream about when I'd wanted to dream about her. Reading your post makes me want to write a little poem about it.

Re: Little Bad Dream Charm - Kathy Fagan
last night I went to sleep thinking about a poem I'd stolen and rewritten. When I showed the one from whom I'd stolen it, he said he loved it and hated me. He said I either had to rewrite it again only much worse than his version or give to him my version to make amends, so I gave it to him.
And as I was drifting off, the thought of many things all came at once:
poems exploding
a book made of my skin
reflection of a face in a bus window superimposed on a witch hazel flower outside
the tiny hairs on arms
a swarm of flies
the word nattering
and they connected in a way only a dream can allow, connected into being the same thing. It gave me an insight about dreams. I think when we're conscious, all our thoughts need to be organized. The thought of water can bring with it many things (fish, glass, faucet, drowning...), but there are certain things it doesn't automatically bring along (pencil, wall clock, photography...). It may be that as we are falling into sleep, drifting off, the firing of our neurons gets randomized.
Greg,
The insults you hurl are some of the most artful I've known.

Would that be because of the crayons, Manna?
