All those recordings are unauthorized and illegal. BOOTLEG is
a factory made, commercial, illegal release, usually of an audience
recording or a sound board recording. Bootlegs are not private
CD-Rs or cassette tapes, but genuine CDs pressed professionally.
The artists and copyright owners don't get their commissions.
Then we have those private recordings in circulation, nowadays
on CDRs or recently on DVD-Rs (DVD+Rs). They are home-made,
burned copies of a master tape, not made with commercial
goals.
Usually the artists tolerate the audience recordings but not
the commercial bootlegs.

Thanks, Jarkko. I am talking about a recording that was made by a radio station when he appeared in Israel in 1980.jarkko wrote:All those recordings are unauthorized and illegal. BOOTLEG is

The recording is of course very rare and is not sold or distributed at all, so as far as I can say it does not violate the artist's copyright.
