Hi Bev,
I’m glad Jackson has recovered from his illness; I was to attend the canceled Melbourne concert, a complimentary ticket from a friend, so will now wait patiently until Nov 29.
Cheers,
Andrew

Re: Songs for Suzanne - Australia
Tonight’s performance of this show was sensational, in the more intimate venue of Thornbury Theatre. The sets were the same, but in terms of performers, the Duracks were not included. However, the addition of Alma Zygier was fantastic, as she’s a young jazz singer with an amazing noticeably unique v...

Re: Australian Painting Exhibition with Tributes to LC
Bev, I think you are right in your assessment of Melbourne in terms of LC related events… and indeed I do feel lucky to live here, but not just for that reason.

Re: Australian Painting Exhibition with Tributes to LC
Hi Anne, I like your thinking re Gina’s art.
Re Bev’s attendance, she lives in Queensland, a long way from Victoria, and she hasn’t said anything to me about attending this, so I expect she isn’t… but we’ll await her confirmation of this supposition.
Cheers,
Andrew

Re: Songs for Suzanne - Australia
Hi Kevin,
I have seen this show before and do recommend it a lot. You can see my report as per the link in B4real’s post above.
In fact I’ll be attending it again on Sat, 25th (Thornbury gig).
Cheers,
Andrew

Re: New book: Leonard Cohen Everybody Knows
Maarten, thanks for that info and those two additional links.
John, I’m pleased, but a little surprised, that you already have sourced a copy in England.
I’m getting a copy of this book from the said friend and her partner (my son, Tim) as a birthday present next month.
Cheers,
Andrew

https://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=39574 With reference to the above thread about the Everybody Knows exhibition curated by the Art Gallery of Ontario, I’ve been made aware by a close friend in the book industry that a new book covering material in this exhibition is about to be publi...

Hi Vickie, I’m a bit late joining this conversation, but I see my friends Alan and Bev from “down under” have contributed. Anyway, better late than never. ;-) Nick Cave was one onf the many performers who performed in the Came So Far For Beauty tribute concerts organised by Hal Wilner, which amongst...

Re: Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song,” Daniel Geller and Dayna Goldfine
Saw Hallelujah movie yesterday and am looking for name of the LC song that plays behind final credits and any information about it. Thanks! smarx that song is You Got Me Singing, Popular Problems album (2014); it’s a very appropriate choice, given this verse: “You got me singing The Hallelujah hymn...

Re: Photo and Video show Ghent Event 2022
Wybe, once again you’ve excelled with a truly wonderful video capture of the event, which is the next best thing to being there in person. I would have loved to have been there this time, but it wasn’t to be. However, it was so nice to see so many Cohenite friends from over the years and Ghent looks...

Re: Sue Merlyn Farebrother has passed away
Oh dear, it’s so sad to read just now about Sue’s passing. Like a number of us here, I’ve known Sue for many years, from contact with her at various events right up to the 2019 gathering on Hydra. She was a committed and enthusiastic member of our community. Sue was a regular and keen Open MIc perfo...

Alan, I believe it’s only Melbourne and Sydney screenings at present, with Canberra and Perth in August, but I expect it to have more widespread screenings in due course.
