What those videos of the very muddy years, or of the less muddy years, or the rare dry ones? ;-)

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE

I know this has been asked before but does anyone have any idea when the set is likely to start? 3PM seems a bit early (at least from my point of view as I'm likely to be working nearby that day until 6 ;)) Maybe someone has been to another Day At The Hopfarm thing and might have some idea? Personal...

Re: Dominique Isserman shooting new video clips for Leonard

Am I being perhaps a tad optimistic in hoping that these clips may be for another new album? I know he's never bee profilic in terms of songwriting but I think I remember reading in the mojo interview that Leonard hinted that he wanted to finish the next record before touring again. Seems a bit late...

Re: A Banjo interpretation

Interesting discussion. I guess we all have different interpretations of these things but for what it's worth here is mine... I think the Banjo = the body. "There's something that I'm watching, means a lot to me" - the 'me' here being Consciousness watching the body going about it's business on the ...

A Thousand Kisses Deep (recitation)

Does anyone have any idea if this is likely to be recorded for a future album? I know we have the live version but I was really hoping it would turn up on Old Ideas. For me it's as beautiful as anything he's ever composed

I don't know what you mean by inspiration, and you may already know this, but Banjo was apparantly inspired by Hurricane Katrina. The music is very similar to My Oh My, which may be why it seems so familiar?

Re: Old Ideas - Various Chart Positions

P.S. speaking of chart positions does anyone else think that The Faith could've become a surprise hit single if it was released around about Christmastime? I can imagine it being used in a disney film or something similar and people walking out of the cinema wanting to know who on earth was responsi...

Re: Old Ideas - Various Chart Positions

Funny seeing this talk of Lana Del Rey here 'battling with Leonard' for no1...... the first time I heard her song Video Games the first thing I remember thinking was how much she reminded me of Jennifer Warnes and how similar her background vocals were to the female voices that Leonard has used (whe...

Re: Out-takes

According to the interview in Mojo, Thanks For The Dance could be on the next record. Off the top of my head it also mentions The Street, Born In Chains, Wither Thou Goest and a song called The Treaty as being worked on for possible inclusion of either Old Ideas or the next record. The interview is ...

Re: "elaboration of a tube" - any interpretation suggestions

Actually the more I think about it the more the 'food goes in one end comes out the other' tube idea makes perfect sense from the context of what he was singing before. It's actually a pretty classy line. How many times have I heard him sing a new line and thought 'why didnt I write that?!'

HolyDove you just beat me to it! Though I was going to suggest Vagina

Definately agree with Jerry about the sentiment of the thing being about life and just being a bunch of chemicals

Re: Old Ideas song snippets

Listening to short snippets of a new Cohen album is like being told by God "you're about to meet a beautiful new woman, here's a picture of her kneecap". We live in an age where everyone is trained to make instant judgments on everything but that's not always the wisest thing to do. Unless you've he...

Re: SONGS AND COVER OF OLD IDEAS

I think the red shadow of the photographer represents the ego, and also is kind of a reminder that everybody sees the same thing differently (therefore if another person were the photographer then the red shadow would look different.) Normally in photographs or life in general we are unaware of the ...

Re: Leonard recites That is What I Heard You Say in new TV s

To people getting upset about this........ How do we know he's even being paid for it or that he isn't giving the money to charity? People are so quick to judge. It's not like he's selling guns or anything, or even telling people to go out and buy sony stuff. Who here actually feels like getting a n...

Good song, though I thought some of the tracks on his myspace page from the upcoming album were better - check them out here if you haven't heard http://www.myspace.com/adamcohenband
