Re: CONCERT REPORTS: London, September 8 & 9

Does anyone know what he is saying - @3:46 - in Ruth's video "I believe if I'm not mistaken, I used to live in London. Yes, it was long before Hampstead became fashionable. I lived on a little old (?) road with Stella Pullman called Gayton road. I had to bring the coal up in the morning to light......

Re: URGENT: HOP FARM SHOWS TO WEMBLEY ARENA

Am I the only one peed off that EVENTIM have released really good seats (rows 4/5) just now  If these had been shown as available when I first bought tickets just after the Hop Farm debacle, then obviously I would have gone for these. Now for no good reason, we are quite a few rows back from...

Re: SHOW ME THE PLACE (free streaming of new song)

You would think that they would want the single from the album to be the best sounding and strongest track on the album. After all this is the first new LC song we have heard since 2004! I love the lyrics but frankly I don't find Show Me The Place that strong of a song. If there's one thing I've no...

Re: SHOW ME THE PLACE (free streaming of new song)

This song gets better and better with each listen, but the abruptness of the noise is distracting. I don't mind noise, it's the abrupt absence and onset of noise that is annoying. I was hoping it was just a dodgy stream so preordered the album and downloaded the mp3 but it's just as present there t...

Ah, thanks Wendy, I didn't see Jarkko's update!

I wonder why he chose not to include Born in Chains and Feels So Good? :(

Re: Leonard Cohen Set to Relase New Album in 2012 (StereoBoa

I received an email update from Patrice (webmaster over at the leonardcohensite.com forums) saying the following: Voici le communiqué fourni par Leonard Cohen en personne: Leonard confirms that his new studio album is finished. The title will be "Old Ideas". All songs are brand new except "Darkness"...

I really hope this album materialises some time in the near future

What stage in the process are things up to? Has it been fully recorded? Mixed and mastered?

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

Equipment production costs alone rose to over $500,000. That cost is not feasible for a 2,000 person concert, The venue only holds 3,500. In addition to the equipment production costs, you have to add air charter, security, hotels, etc for 40 people. Total show costs would reach over $800,000. In s...

Re: "Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Liturgically Correct"

Eurgh, the cover is nice enough but the bastardized lyrics are not, and actually make me feel quite uncomfortable.

Leonard Cohen's lyrics may be often spiritual and sometimes contain religious imagery, but I don't like his music being used to promote a particular religion.

Re: Premiere 2010, Neil Diamond sings HALLELUJAH

What was it the man himself said?

"Can we please have a moratorium on Hallelujah"

Is this by now the most covered "pop" song ever? :?

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

Personally i found your comments against some people deeply hurtful although i understand that you were obviously hurt when making these comments. it is still my personal impression that the debate went into a " wrong " direction, i am quoting only some of your statements: Leonard could have person...

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

As I said a few posts ago, the real problem lies with the promoter. They are the ones who agree the "fee" for the performers and they are then the ones who "promote" the concert and set the ticket prices. The performers will not make more money from a full house or less money from a half empty hous...

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

Anyone so inclined can email Robert Kory (Leonard's Manager) at rkory@rkmgment.com

I would personally not be satisfied with the half-assed "sorry for any inconvenience caused" statement if I had shelled out money for flights and hotels, but perhaps that's just me.

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

I think we have to be philosophical about this. Of course it's disappointing but this was a concert that always seemed too good to be true somehow anyway. Concert-goers in this part of the world have probably got used to this sort of thing by now because it's an new market as far as concert promoti...

Re: Ticketing info for the last concerts in December

Anything else I have to say has been said by Lizzy and others... but I know it had to have been unavoidable on Leonard's/AEG's part. Whatever the reasons are for the cancellation it is beyond all of our control... A Mutti/Leslie 8) There may be a genuine unavoidable reason for the cancellation, but...
