Re: Montreal tribute: media coverage, photos & YouTube links

***The screen remains empty, but after a while the recording begins. So try again and wait some time to get it started! / Jarkko*** I still can't get it to work on my iPad but had no problem using my laptop. It was great to hear Gideon again. What a wonderful informative host he was, his words were...

Re: Montreal: comments and feelings

Interesting info stfa. Thanks. I wonder why they didn't do Passing Through? If there is one thing the show lacked it was an ensemble finale. Having a solo singer do an off standard version of Closing Time was an odd way to finish. When she asked us to sing along we couldn't very easily because she s...

Thanks Foxwood.

Paxman was at one of the Manchester Opera House shows - the first one? - in June 2008.

Some of them, yes, but not all.
I heard about this yesterday. I was quite shocked at some of the omissions .....

All I am getting is a link to an App which I have no intention of downloading. Does anyone have the full link for the info?

Thanks

Re: Leonard's tombstone

One thing keeps hitting me in my (artist’s) eye though is the different angles of perspective between the headstone in the background and that of the stone in the foreground. I would have thought both would have parallel perspective sight lines. Maybe it’s just the camera shot angle or perhaps ther...

Our interest lies in outdoors activities (long walks etc.)
Don't forget about Mont Royal itself. Easy to get to and lots of scope for long pleasant walks, with great views over the city.

Re: MONTREAL: More information for the members

Does anyone know where Leonard's grave is located within Shaar Hashomayim Congregation Cemetery? Very near to the main entrance, to the right as you go in. It is easy to find. Look for the grave with all the stones piled on it and all around it (including, unfortunately, on the back of another fami...

Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert

One that neither of us enjoyed too much was the Cohen 75th Birthday celebration lunch in Barcelona, held just before the concert in Montjuic. We both like Cohen (of course we do, the number of gigs we have been to would more than suggest that !) but the fawning by more than a few over LC (obviously...

Re: MONTREAL: More information for the members

Just one further word about the eTA. Don't worry if it takes a day or two to come through. I had a new passport last year so had to apply for a new eTA. However some complicated travel arrangements involving land crossings followed by flights for another trip a couple of weeks later meant I didn't m...

Thanks for the link Marie. A touching insight into his friendship with Leonard and Leonard's final days.

Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert

Most of those who are not going to Montreal have probably tuned out of the forum by now. A pity - I think Jarkko inteded this forum not just for the few who can attend such events but for the many who love Cohen 's music. I don't see any reason for people to tune out of the forum. Have you checked ...
