Re: The tour merchandise and collectibles

Will we still be able to buy merch from the site? They didn't have anything when he was in Fredericton.

Re: Live Album

Absolutely AMAZING. Though Fredericton may not be included, I'm sure the setlist will be the same, and the performances similar. I'm so happy.

Live Album

I've heard rumblings that the tour, either one show, or sections of each show (like for the 1994 album), will be officially recorded and released.

Is there any truth to this, or is this all just jibberish?

Re: Leonard Cohen At His Most Poetic, For You.

Well, from what I've seen, Cohen's poetic style went from the very traditional, and almost modern and less strictly metered Romantic poet in LET US COMPARE MYTHOLOGIES to an almost free-form, short-line poet, like a calm, peaceful Bukowski, if you will, in BOOK OF LONGING. Both are great, but I thin...

Re: Fredericton (May 11) - the first concert of the tour

My goodness, Rabbit, Mollydog (lovely name - seriously), upsofloating - you really do lack a sense of humour don't you? I've often thought irony was lost on Americans, it seems I may have been correct. As for fisherinbelfast - the fact that your President is a fan of Leonard's has long been known t...

Re: Also Tom Waits may be playing Europe this summer

I wish he was coming to a closer state, or to Canada... He's my second favorite song writer behind Cohen.

Re: Fredericton (May 11) - the first concert of the tour

Langmaid wrote: "The show did not end untuil after press time on Subsday, but we gave the world that first great photo taken by Ray Bourgeois in yesterday's edition" Two questions - (1) do you have a local calendar over there that has Subsday on it? (2) Is your photographer middle-class? Molly-dog ...

I'm in Fredericton and would like to see another show. Long shot, but whatever. Any surround tickets (maritimes), send me an offer.

Re: BILLY COLLINS

"The Dead" is probably my favorite poem ever. The notion that the dead are watching us and waiting for us to meet with them again in the afterlife, and how they act as parents, ensuring that we are asleep and safe. Brings tears to my eyes nearly every time...

BILLY COLLINS

I have yet to see a post based on his beautiful poetry, so I either assume that the posts are gone or few people read him/like him. He has a playfulness in his poetry that Cohen fans should surely appreciate. Posted a few below, but you can find many more online. Enjoy. FORGETFULNESS The name of the...

Re: Fredericton May 11 Set List

Band members were introduced sporadically throughout the songs during their various times in the spotlight (solo bringing the band into WHO BY FIRE, for example), and were also introduced at the conclusion of the final set.

Re: Fredericton May 11 Set List

Well, the thing with a guy like cohen is that you take whatever he gives and smile the whole way through. I would have loved to hear "Famous blue Raincoat", "Alexandra Leaving", "Sisters of Mercy" or "By the Rivers Dark" (on of my favorite albums), but I also realize that his olders songs do seem to...

Re: Opening Night - Fredericton

I truly hope to find a full recording of this show. There must be one. Living in the moment was fine, but I'd sure like to have somethign to remind me of the evening.
