Re: The Bells
Buffy Sainte-Marie is very wonderful - have you heard/seen her singing: "God is Alive, Magic is Afoot"? Absolutely beautiful. (When I read Beautiful Losers, I saw her as Catherine Tekakwitha. Buffy is touring and singing - do go to see her. Her singing is pure and a soulful shade of blue....

ADAM COHEN, ET AL. VS ROBERT B. KORY, ET AL. - Another managerial betrayal?
I was doing some reading about Leonard's legal problems and came across the deeply disturbing news that Adam and Lorca Cohen are now suing Robert Kory alleging he has abused his position as executor of the Cohen Trust. Kory, as we know, came into Cohen's life when a previous manager, Kelley Lynch, e...

If anyone can download these it would be lovely if they were shared here. Is that okay Jarkko?

Amanda Shires: "A Song For Leonard Cohen" and cover of "I'm Your Man"
If you haven't heard Amanda Shires, do yourself a favor and check this out. She loves Leonard as much as we do, and she's way more talented than her husband, Jason Isbell, which is saying something.

Re: Leonard Has Passed Away
An important part of all our lives goes with him.
But an essential part remains.
He lived a great life and created great art.
I will always be thankful for all the gifts he gave me without ever even knowing me.
Goodbye Leonard.
Rest in peace.

Re: Leonard Cohen's health
I don't know how to process my feelings about Leonard's health in light of the New Yorker article. He is clearly on a journey toward a destination that is drawing closer. I am not a friend or family member and have no right or expectation of being invited to take part in that journey. Leonard owes ...

Emmylou Harris and Daniel Lanois cover "Stranger Song"
This is from a radio show in 1997, and is a mighty great version of a truly great song: http://smallfiguresinavastexpanse.blogs ... dylan.html

The Bells
I've been searching here and the rest of the web without luck for the lyrics to "The Bells," the early version of "Take This Longing" recorded by Buffy Sainte-Marie in 1971. Does anybody happen to have them? Thanks, Jeff

Re: How to flag Valencia clip as inappropriate
I agree with the person who said it was tasteless to put it up, but would be censorship to take it down. It's not in the nature or mission of a site like youtube to respond to matters of taste except where laws (e.g. child porn) or site rules (e.g. adult porn) are broken. That said, putting up Leona...

Re: New Rolling Stone LC Interview
Two quibbles: isn't it a lazy cliche to refer to LC as a recluse when he's in the midst of a 100 show tour and doing interviews weekly? Granted he was a recluse when he lived on Mt. Baldy, but he is clearly reveling in a dignified exhibitionism now. And doesn't he have a house in LA, not an apartment?

Re: Seattle - April 23
It is a horrible venue, and invariably charges the highest prices in Seattle. I saw Leonard in 1988 and 1993 at the Wiltern in LA, which is a lovely old theatre. Here in Seattle, the Paramount is similar and was the obvious choice. I suppose the WaMu holds more people by 2X and Leonard is trying to ...

Emmy the Great
The title song on her first album, "First Love," released in England yesterday, makes much mention of Leonard and Hallelujah. Also contains one of the most wonderfully foreboding lines about a relationship: "You were stroking me like a pet/ But you didn't own me yet." The whole a...

So, is this really the title of a new album? Any word from NY on when it will be released?
