Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert

Something I'd say we can all agree on is that this forum is a great idea. Thanks to Jarkko. Perhaps some need to be reminded that a forum is a place of discussion, a place where people can air differing opinions. If everyone here "sang from the same hymn sheet" it would be so tedious, and I for one ...

Good to hear from you Tularosa, thanks for your support!
Yes, I too look forward to "the Flame."
A whole year away, but should be good. :)

Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert

Most of those who are not going to Montreal have probably tuned out of the forum by now. The big build up to the "important announcement" began in July. Over the months of "patience" many posted their hopes, modest ones really : an unpublished work by Leonard, a new recording, some said they didn't...

Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert

with Tickets start at 40 Canadian Dollars (27Euro) its almost a free show. if you really wanted to go ... Hard to complain with that. Don't think many of the forum members would be buying those (not quite free tickets) do you?! You would be very far back, to put it mildly. Don't begrudge those who ...

Re: MONTREAL: More information for the members

Thank you Marie for this Cohen site map. I find it so interesting to see all these familiar places on the map and the pop-ups work fine. I hope others like me who will not be in Montreal in November find your map here - who knows, we might get there some time! Much appreciated.

Re: September 21 - Leonard's birthday

how will they (the dead) manage to read Facebook? " Anytime I am missing Leonard, I have albums, CD s and Dvd s to play and watch to remember him by. Well said, Vicomte and Geoffrey. One of the things I admired about Leonard Cohen was that he was never afraid to face up to reality, however unpleasa...

My personal reaction to any anniversary of loss is quiet remembrance, but I respect that others feel differently.

Yes Mordy, my feelings too. There was a certain dignity about the (comparative) media silence since the death of Leonard Cohen. Suppose it couldn't last!

Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert

Personally I am more interested in sharing what is bound to be an emotional event with friends than who is performing on stage Wendy You don't care who is performing on stage? So you might as well have a meet up with the old pals in the local pub - much less expensive!! (ps - enjoyable as were the ...

'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert

Am I the only one saddened by all the goings on about this Montreal concert? Many different packages at different prices, VIP/ rip off options, confusion about seating plan, no certainty about who exactly will perform, etc. It was all so different when LC was alive. Simplicity was paramount in his c...

Re: Important Announcement in August/September

Something special is being planned for the long weekend of November 5 - 7, 2017 (Sun-Tues), in Leonard's beautiful hometown of Montreal. Marie & J "So the great affair is over..." For those of us who won't be able to make it to Montreal in November. Thank you Marie and Jarkko. Perhaps this announce...

Worrying thought Hartmut
But no, I trust Jarkko not to sound excited about anything in poor taste!

Re: Important Announcement in August/September

It's beginning to sound more and more like a tribute concert, or perhaps a series of tribute concerts. Yes indeed, series more likely. I hope not - much as I loved the band it was because they were supporting Leonard so well. Seeing them without LC would just be too sad. "Hamlet" without the Prince...

Re: im interested in anybody's impressions on 'you want it darker'.

Hi Jewlie59, in case you're disappointed to get no replies, please remember this is holiday season when most people eat /drink more and don't bother much with online stuff! Secondly, there is a thread in the news section called "The Darker Album and the Songs" open since Oct. where many/most of us h...
