Re: Liel Leibovitz: A Broken Hallelujah (new book)

I enjoyed listening to this, when it featured as "Book of The Week" on BBC Radio 4.
I thought it complemented Sylvie's bio nicely.

Perhaps the "perfect" biography will never be written. I find this reassuring.
The songs and lyrics are all that matter.

Re: Leonard Cohen, contender for Nobel Prize for Literature?

And it is....terrific news!

Read her collection "Dear Life" earlier on in the year and thought
it was pretty astonishing. A worthy winner, for sure.

There must be something in the Canadian air :)

Re: Is it becoming slightly stale?

@holydove What a beautiful post, written with great grace, respect, intelligence, sensitivity and compassion. Thank you for sharing this. You articulate precisely how I feel and I'm sure many others too. I feel blessed to have seen leonard perform thrice since his return and each has been a majestic...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: LONDON, JUNE 21, 02 ARENA

Thanks for sharing the tweets Helen, they offer another perspective, which is always a good thing. Of course, I love reading the traditional concert reports etc but twitter is a brilliant medium for capturing immediacy, distilling the moment and conveying excitement etc After all, we live in the age...

[quotethe fact that I am not moved in the same way that I was when I first saw the show is down to Me , not the setlist, not the band][/quote] @somewhat_nifty I couldn't agree with you more! Some of the wisest words I have read on this thread. In comparison, I am a mere sapling (!), approaching my f...

Lovely piece, thanks for sharing.

Leonard Cohen never fails to bring a smile to my face.
He is blessed with so much style, grace and geniality.

Hope that everyone who sees him perform this year has

Re: PRESALE TO THE UK SHOWS

Dear Jarkko and Marie, I would just like to reiterate what others have said - thank you so much for this and all your hard work in ensuring this could happen. Have just booked a ticket for Cardiff, £30 all in which made me pirouette with joy across the room. To say I am smiling would be an understat...

Re: BRITISH TOUR

I was gazing wistfully at my "Book of Mercy" T-shirt this morning and noted in the mists of time that Leonard played Cardiff. How wonderful, not just because this is an hour from my hometown. Do hope that other venues in the UK might be considered. London is great but so is Manchester, Bir...

Hi John,

No problem....I love your suggestion of album title, "Songs From An Asylum".

Hope that management has taken note!

Re: Sylvie Simmons Reading and Q & A in London

My apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.

Saw this great video of Sylvie in discussion with Liel Leibovitz:

Love the brilliant performance with ukulele at the end too!

Re: Is it becoming slightly stale?

Absolutely! This is the beauty of the forum. It seems that some folk agree with you but reading back through the thread I would suggest that most do not. Good to have a reasoned debate. Am sure the great man would be impressed. After all, debating was one of his fortes when at school. Thanks for sta...
