Re: PEN NE chairman-"Leonard Cohen may attend" on Feb 26

It certainly does seem strange that there has been no word on this event. The PEN New England website just says something about information coming soon and they do not answer emails. I'm a PEN member, and have received no announcements. It's already Feb. 14th! Has anyone heard anything about LC atte...

Re: 29-May-09 Boston, MA Wang Theatre

i must say that while the Beacon NYC show was a once-in-a-lifetime thrill, i actually thought the band and Leonard were better last night. he was really ON, really into the songs, very emotional -- or maybe it was that i could see so much better! I was at the Beacon show and a Boston show. It wasn'...

Re: 29-May-09 Boston, MA Wang Theatre

it really WAS awesome.....i was in the 4th row right pit, which was really the 3rd row because the first was just two chairs all by themselves.....i've seen Leonard before, so i was dubious about whether to splurge for these seats but oh i am SO glad i did! funny about the shoelaces -- i never thoug...

Re: 29-May-09 Boston, MA Wang Theatre

that certainly DOES help -- thank you so much!! Those of you who are going on the 29th (tonight!), could you possibly let us know how the Wang deals with cameras etc? I'm going on the 30th and would love to bring a tiny camera, but don't want to have it confiscated or something. At the Beacon concer...

Re: 29-May-09 Boston, MA Wang Theatre

it's amazing to me that there are still so many tickets available from telecharge for both boston nights......more for the first concert, but some for both. mostly the higher-end seats, but still. i really thought they'd be all sold out by now. i'm going on the second night b/c i got a better ticket...

Re: The North American Tour & Presale for members

It appears that some venues were sold out almost instantly -- or else the systems were too clogged to show tickets (over an hour and a half now). Somewhere back aways there was mention of possible additional shows. Will those have presale days too? Guess I'll try for the public sales, though it seem...

Special Concert in New York

It was magnificent, it tore at your heart…..I was there last night in NYC. There will be reviews galore, so I offer you only my soul’s overview: it was a thrill of the deepest kind, passionate, tough, and sweet. It erased every pain you entered the theater with and replaced it with a joy close to so...

Re: Boston, early 80s -- no, 1988 !

Well, I mis-remembered a couple of things: the concert was in 1988 and was originally scheduled at the Opera House in Boston. I JUST NOW found a review in the Boston Globe archives, and I'm pasting it here, for anyone interested. This is the first mention of this concert I've been able to find, so i...

Re: RIDICULOUS!

Yes it is extremely upsetting. There must be a way around this. It would be so wonderful if the LC management could make a statement against the monopoly of ticketmaster and the like. I'm so scared that when the rest of the US tour is announced, those of us in particular cities will not even be abl...

Boston, early 80s

I had a wonderful experience in Boston in the early 80s, but I'm not sure of the exact year. Somewhere I have packed away a program book, but I can't get at it today and am hoping someone will enlighten me. I had tickets to see Leonard at the Orpheum theater in Boston, but strangely enough not enoug...
