Re: Sue Merlyn Farebrother has passed away

Hi Leonard Cohen fans & friends of Sue. I'm Sue's eldest son Davin and I'm posting this using her account as I have no other way to post otherwise. The family have arranged a 'Celebration of Sue's life' event and I thought some of her Cohen friends might like to know. You are welcome to attend (...

Got an email today from Caren/Hans. Thank you! I feel really out of touch with everyone while this awful pandemic has been going on. I would really love to see you all again on Hydra in 2023, and but also in Ghent, the year before (2022) Crossing al my fingers that Maarten will not find it necessary...

Re: EVENT POSTPONED

Hi Maarten, I haven't visited the Forum for a while, due to personal reasons, so I was first disappointed to see that Ghent is postponed for this summer. It does not surprise me at all, but I'm sorry. I was planning to book to come. Sorry especially for you and your parents and other helper organise...

Re: Budapest Travel Tips #1 - Transportation

Hi Eva, Thanks v much for the info. The rail station where we arrive is called Budapest Keleti and we are travelling from Vienna. We decided to make the journey fun so we are doing the whole trip from London by train. Keleti presumably is not west Budapest station. If you can help us to travel from ...

Re: T-shirt size chart

Hi Eva (thanks to lizzytish), re the t-shirt size - don't remember what I ordered but probably ladies large is about right. Slightly concerned about them being fitted t shirts, as I don't (tho I wish i did!) have a flat stomach anymore. I'm not fat, but not really thin either...

Re: Budapest Travel Tips #1 - Transportation

Hi, we are arriving by train to the main railway station. No idea how far away our hotel is but we are staying at is called City Ring in a street called confusingly, Budapest, and it is close to the Budapest jazz Club where a lot of LC events will take place. Can you give us directions by public tra...

Really looking forward to the Budapest Event. Have visited Budapest once before, but for only a short time, so it will be great to get to know this lovely city better. Am definitely planning to come! Hope to see you on Hydra - Lizzie? Eva? (Not sure if we really know each other - if you know me as I...

Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

OHHH! Heard this oh so sad news on the 7am news today, couldn't believe it! Have listened to you Leonard, for over 40 years of my life. Will always continue to play your extraordinary music for the rest of my life. You've left us all and gone to join Roshi and everybody you loved that left before yo...

Re: Hydra 2015: thank you, Friends!

Belatedly, I too had a brilliant time on Hydra this year (not that other events there have not also been excellent!), so many thanks to you, Jarkko and Eija, for all the organisation that it took. Thank you for the enjoyable Friday trip (I have never seen the deep turquoise Corinth Canal before), or...

Re: Book your accommodation as early as possible

Er... I didn't book my accommodation yet. Late, I know, but I didn't think it would be a problem to leave it late. I posted on the Hotels in Hydra thread earlier today, asking if anyone has any ideas. Maybe no-one has seen it yet. Have tried a few places with no luck so far. I would really prefer a ...

Re: Hotel information Hydra

Hi, not sure where to post this, so I'm trying on this 'old thread' that Goldin has tried to update. Am arriving on 10 June (2015!) for a week, and so far have not been able to find accommodation. I'm looking for a room with shower for just me with mini cooking facilities, preferably near the port (...

Re: Hydra update: no bench in June??

Yep, I agree with most posts, EXCEPT relocating the bench to Montreal. It has to be Hydra I think, because of Leonard's long ago but long association to the island. Anybody know the last time Leonard himself visited Hydra, incidentally? Rats to powerful individuals on the Rock who think they can obj...

Adding my greetings, happy birthday wishes and huge love to all the wonderful messages here. Hope your day is/was a peaceful and joyous occasion - and I have two big things to say: thank you for inspiring me, all those years ago, to go live on Hydra for a year and a half with my then 4 year old son ...
