Re: LC interview with Jian Ghomeshi on CBC - aired this morning

rgraff..... thanks for making us aware of that lesson... sometimes the written word is much more powerful than the spoken one in that it stays in our memories longer I think when we see it in black and white... Thanks You're welcome, tinderella. LC's words struck a chord in me regarding the indulge...

Re: LC interview with Jian Ghomeshi on CBC - aired this morning

A lesson on putting your life in perspective: "JG: What do you consider your darkest hour? LC: Well, I wouldn’t tell you about it if I knew. Nothing comes to mind. No, I dare not. Even to talk about oneself in a time like this is a kind of unwholesome luxury. There’s so much suffering right now. To ...

Here's another clue for you all . . .

According to the image properties, the San Diego picture and one of the Coachella pictures were taken with an iPhone. The other Coachella picture and the Oakland picture were taken with a Nikon CoolPix 5100.

Different night, different lyrics . . . .

Here is my transcription from April 13th, 2009, Paramount Theater, Oakland, CA recording. Note several significant differences. Looks as if he is still tweaking it. I can’t break the code of our frozen love. It’s too late to know what the password was. If your heart is torn, I don’t wonder why. If t...

Re: "Leonard Cohen Live in London" - DVD & 2CD - April 2009

However, if I'm being completely honest I'd also say that I'm a little disappointed by the mix of the sound on these releases. I wondered if I was remembering the gig I went to with rose-tinted ear-muffs, but when I played the DVD to my dad at the weekend (who came with me to the concert) he notice...

Re: Lyrics for "Lullaby"

Hello friends, I'm just listening to the song and think the first stanza of this wonderful lyrics reads: "I can't break the code of our frozen love It's too late to know what the password was" Cheers Marta Thanks for the good ears. I listened to it again, and you are correct. Makes more sense as we...

Lyrics for "Lullaby" (two versions)

I haven't seen these posted. Transcribed from a recording of the April 3, 2009 Grand Prairie, TX concert, corrected per Marta, below: NOTE: See my post below for different lyrics from the April 13, 2009 Oakland, CA concert recording. Midnight Choir wrote:Thanks Rob.

If anyone has a HQ audio version of FBR from the 2008/9 tour, drop me a pm! :)
If you could pass that on to me as well, I'd be most appreciative.

Re: NPR podcast of Beacon Theatre show, available from Feb 26

Does anyone know if Leonard performed Famous Blue Raincoat at the Beacon Theater? It's not on the NPR download. I have Live in London and I've just cut out Chelsea Hotel and The Partisan from the NPR download to give me all but one of the songs Leonard performed in London in November. I just need a...

Re: "Leonard Cohen Live in London" - DVD & 2CD - April 2009

A couple comments, having listened several times to the CD (I also have the DVD, but have not yet had a chance to experience it): 1) It is a wonderful record of fantastic tour. Nothing can fully capture the magic, but this does a great job. 2) I was fortunate to be at the NYC Beacon Theatre concert,...

Re: Find and sell New York tickets here

I've been a Leonard Cohen fan since the late seventies when I was hitchhiking through Europe when his "New Skin for the Old Ceremony" albums were in record shops. I've never had the opportunity to see the man, although I know all his songs and have all his recordings. I live in Philadelphia, and wou...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008

New to this forum. Old to Leonard Cohen. First heard his music in a Swiss woman's apartment while traveling in Europe in 1979 and have been an avid fan since. Would love the opportunity to see him in person. I look forward to tour information.

Bests to all.
