Re: September 21 - Leonard's birthday

Thanks to the human heart by which we live,
Thanks to its tenderness, it's joys and fears,
To me the meanest flower that blows can give
Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears.

Wordsworth.

In remembrance.

Re: Billy Joe Shaver Live from Bluegrass Underground

Hello Kush. I was unaware of the magnitude of the 'Trail of Tears' until I read your post and discovered more about the caves. The music and the location have opened up a whole new area for me to discover. Thanks.

Live forever. A haunting song with some nice guitar playing, Kush. Looks like a good place to visit.

Re: Lonnie Donegan

Thanks for putting me on to 'The Skiffle Sessions,' Alan. I have listened to some of the tracks and really enjoyed them. They have that earthy quality which characterises early live performances. I shall be listening to the rest very soon!

The Student Prince - Mario Lanza's voice.

A joyous song from 'The Student Prince.' Mario Lanza is the singer although he is not in the film. Edmund Purdom is the actor miming to the words - very successfully. A happy, uplifting scene. The second link is a very interesting blog from one of the extras in the film. https://youtu.be/OI3Bcgh4Jko...

Re: 'Angel of Lyon' Tom Russell

Today on Tom Russell"s Facebook page there is a very gracious comment by him of the time when he met Leonard Cohen. Also a comment on when he attended a Leonard Cohen concert in Norway.

Re: Nasadiya Sukta - Rig Veda

Hello Kush and Steven, Thank you for the posting and comments. In this day and age many people don't have time to stand back from their busy lives and think of what life is actually all about so such posts remind us of our place in the universe. I may be misquoting Leonard Cohen here but I believe h...

Re: Steve Young

Hello Kush,

Thanks very much for the Richard Dobson links. I have not heard his songs before and I found them very enjoyable. I was looking at his webpage and that is very interesting too.

As for the answer to my question, the individual concerned is John Bilezikjian on the oud.

Re: 'Angel of Lyon' Tom Russell

Thanks for the links, Kush. I always enjoy the accordion playing especially. I was in the south of France last year and saw a group in the local town square one summer evening with a marvellous accordion player. She was so full of enthusiasm and energy. It was just a free concert but it was one of t...
