Re: CONCERT REPORT: NYC Madison Square Garden, October 23

And before anybody says anything, I am not criticising Cohen or his band, I am criticising the most ignorant, inattentive, unappreciative audience I have ever had the misfortune to be part of: * audience members still wandering towards their seats 4 songs into the set (this is a combination of peop...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Barcelona, September 21 (Leonard's birthday)

The only thing was the bass and bass drum did seem to drown out LC a bit at times making it a little difficult to hear what he was saying, it sounded like he was missing the consonants at the end of words at times but I didn't know if that was him or due to the sound quality. All in all I was amaze...

Re: Barcelona Celebration 20 and 21-09-2009

From us, Many thanks too for being such welcoming hosts for the DVD premiere and the 2 hour tribute by Jorcx and his pianist colleague, whos name I forget Jorcx, now there's someone who can take Leonard's songs and words to an even wider audience. Not just switching from Catalan to English and back ...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Barcelona, September 21 (Leonard's birthday)

In I Tried to Leave You... I love his ad-lib: "the years go by - DON'T THEY? Oh yes, noticed that too, clearly heard! =Gypsy Wife= Then, no-one has noticed/mentioned that Leonard did the 2nd verse twice and missed the last - Hattie and Charlie seemed to start the 3rd with Dove/Dawn lyrics and ...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Barcelona, September 21 (Leonard's birthday)

Where do we talk about the tribute concert by Jorcx at the Sala Vivaldi on the Sunday night? Jorcx is very talented and must love this hard work - to be able to sing so many of Leonard´s songs in Catalan as well as perfect English - I hope one day he is introduced to Leonard. Thankyou Jorx, it is ni...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Barcelona, September 21 (Leonard's birthday)

Yes, was a very strong performance from Leonard and ´the band´last night lasting 3.5 hours ending at 1-00 a.m. You have heard all the others and many more will tell you about Leonard and the concert in a plus + plus +ve way - so from me (you know) is a little more objective report for those who coul...

I think that may have been our 'little' phwarrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhh during I'm Your Man. Sorry if it upset anyone, but we were unable to contain ourselves. Hehe! We were just to your left and one row behind I think... we cracked up, nicely judged moment :D PS. Shouldn't it be 'Phw o rrrrrghhh! ...

Hahahahahha :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ajdCCOzmxo Checkout 1:10 to 1:20 as just an example of the mass movements of people well into the concert... non stop, actually. Couldn't really relax and start to enjoy the concert until after Tower of Song 2...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Weybridge, July 11

I think the crowd were amazing (apart from the bloke who stood in the aisle next to me when they all came to the front who kept whooping in my ear!!!). Agree, sorry but I also abs. hate this new (immature Americun habit) of 'whooping' - hate, hate hate it... it's coarse, loud and usually simply att...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Weybridge, July 11

The downside for me was that some people continued to get up to go and get drinks and chips. Can't some go without these things for a couple of hours ? It is the height of disrespect to an artist to constantly leave the performance while they are performing, plus the interruption of other peoples e...

what are these items? why does he laugh devilishly? will he hide explosives in these items? No, nothing so contrived I think a monkey and a plywood violin would seem simply to be just an attempt 'to mock' a plywood violin > a dull sound, a cheap object a monkey > laughing hyena, talking nonsense, a...

Re: Comment on the ticket issue from the tour management

I would go so far as to suggest that a public statement clearly stating that Leonard & his management declined the opportunity to take part in these shenanigans and condemn the practices would be a good idea too. The more publicity there is on this issue, the more artists join Leonard and Bruce...

Re: A sad day for Leonard

I don't see that many here blaming LC explicitly...

But I do see quite a few on many separate threads here bewildered, frustrated and even angry, more at the freedom these outfits have to play 'an easy game', rather than run a business in any meaningfully ethical way !
