What row are your tickets in? I'm really curious how many tickets were available in Oakland for today's presale, since it sold out in about 10 minutes and the seats I got were in row OO in the back.

Re: The North American Tour & Presale for members

The Oakland presale was sold out in about 10 minutes. I got two tickets pretty early after 10am, but they're not very good seats -- in the 31st row from the front, out of 38 rows, at $100 each ($116 including fees). At a few seconds after 10am, I asked for balcony seats and there were none -- so I g...

This is great, Jarkko.

Re: petition for U.S. dates?

I saw him in the San Francisco Bay Area once each in the '70s, the '80s and the '90s. Each time it was a sold-out concert. He has plenty of fans here. Like several others, I'm assuming he will add US concerts to the tour. After all it is billed as the 2008-2009 World Tour, and no dates for 2009 have...

Re: Leonard in Stanford with Philip Glass

I too was a little disappointed with the Book of Longing performance at Stanford this week. I thought the singers presented the words with little emotion, certainly not with the feeling that I've come to expect from Leonard's singing. The music didn't really grab me, except as some have noted, some ...

Re: Philip Glass also at Stanford, CA

I'm going to the two Stanford events the next two days. It was nice of Leonard to come to Stanford, where I work. Too bad it wasn't for an L Cohen concert, though. I still hope to see him tour again. I consider myself lucky to have seen him three times in concert in the San Francisco Bay area, but i...

Happy 71st, Leonard! Sincerely, M Frost.

May you have a graceful delight of a wonderful birthday. You have been in my heart since I first heard Songs of Leonard Cohen in the 60s. I've been thrilled to see you at three concerts in the Bay Area, and I still remember the first one very well, in Berkeley, where you opened and closed with Bird ...
