Re: Vinyl revival

Almost all my music purchases now are vinyl (100+ LPs a year), probably only 2 or 3 CDs a year. CDs don't come close to the sound quality of vinyl, lossy mp3s are even worse. I just picked up Dear Heather today, only about 5 more Leonanrd Cohen LPs to get and I've got the lot on vinyl:)

Re: Live In London: Australian DVD & CD Release

Is it just me? These releases are crap! The CD is really really compressed, so much so that it sounds lifeless and dead. The DVD is not widescreen - why? The live performances were so good that it took a real effort of mixing and editing to degrade the performance to this state. Which Sony executive...

Re: How good is Live in London?

I thought that it was terrible! I've been going to live concerts since 1973 (The Rolling Stones) and the concert sound I heard at LC's show at Rochford Winery in the Yarra Valley (Australia) was the best concert sound I've ever heard. The performace was full of life and passion and humanity. I was v...

Re: Yarra Valley (Rochford Winery), Jan 24

latest review from the erudite and thoughtful Stephen Walker at The Age's Noise Pollution blog: The Man Leonard Cohen DownUnder He was a published poet and novelist before he released his first album at the age of 34 in 1967, since then he has released only 14 albums, the last five years ago. He spe...

Re: Yarra Valley, Jan 24

I've been going to concerts for a long time, since The Stones at Kooyong in 1973 and it's hard to remember a better one than Leonard Cohen:) Does anyone know who was filming and what is going to happen to the footage? There were 6 fixed broadcast cameras and one remote controlled on-stage camera - q...
