Re: Perla Batalla - IN THE HOUSE OF COHEN - A Review

Au contraire mon ami! Perla told us there is a strong, possibility she will bring the concert to Australia and, one would think, New Zealand (she didn't say that, but it's on the way and there's a strong LC community in the Land of the long White Cloud). The concert is so good, it would be a resound...

Perla Batalla - IN THE HOUSE OF COHEN - A Review

Ann and I were fortunate enough, with the help of our dear friends Gery and Aad (they were able to buy the tickets for us - they live in the Netherlands, we live in Australia) to see Perla Batalla's concert in Antwerp on Friday 6th December. I've finally had time to write a review, my thoughts herew...

Australian Author Tweets re Leonard Concert.

Peter Fitzimmons Cohen Tweet.jpg I thought fellow Cohenites might be interested in a Tweet this morning, (Tuesday 15 Jan 2019) from one of Aussie's best known writers (latest book on Mutiny on the Bounty), commentators, ex Rugby Union player and Republican! He's nominated Leonard's first concert in...

Re: THE FLAME, William Logan's NYT Review

In light of Logan's NYT review of The Flame, people should be aware that biting, vicious criticism is Logan's standard fare. He revels in taking aim at high profile poets and authors, indeed, he has been awarded a prize from a critics association for his critiques. His knowledge of topic is impressi...

Re: Half the Perfect World - Writers, Dreamers and Drifters on Hydra, 1955–1964

Salutations fellow Cohenites I wrote to the authors of HALF THE PERFECT WORLD, to congratulate them on their book, it turned out they are both based in Perth, Western Australia – Paul Genoni at Curtin University and Tanya Dalziell at the University of Western Australia. As you’ll see from Paul’s rep...

Re: Half the Perfect World - a couple more pics of Leonard.

As we can only add three pics to each post, I thought I'd cheat and treat everyone to a couple more.

Half the Perfect World - a Perfect Offering

Salutations people, Most members are very well aware of Leonard's early history on Hydra and how the Australian literary couple, George Johnston and Charmian Clift took him under the wing when he arrived on the island. The Melbourne based Monash University Publishing has published what at first glan...

Re: Leonard advertising the Singapore F1 Grand Prix

I'm wondering if they sought permission from Leonard's estate! I'm sure Robert Korey will be on to it, if they didn't and he finds out! I might have the only proof!

Leonard advertising the Singapore F1 Grand Prix

Amazing this evening - I sat down to watch the Singapore F1 Grand Prix and they played the ad for the GP. It was Leonard singing 'YOU WANT IT DARKER.' I just managed to grab the phone and record the last bit of the ad, as I thought nobody would believe me - click on the link below. https://twitter.c...

Hmm - there may be strings attached.

Re: T-shirt size chart

You've done really well there Eva, they are good genuine sizes. To reassure the bigger blokes - well fed, well watered coves like me! - the 4XL is a genuine 4XL, I measured a couple of American T-Shirts I have and if anything the sizes are slightly bigger, by a cm or two. It's always so frustrating ...

All the World's A Stage

Late last year, I stumbled across an amazing marionette of Leonard on a Facebook Forum, it had been commissioned for a buyer in the US. I was so intrigued by both the artist's ability and the possibilities, I resolved to make contact with the marionette maker and did so in late January (a few weeks ...
