Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

A bad week just got much worse. But I digress. My condolences to Mr. Cohen's family and friends, and to everyone here feeling the great loss. My undying gratitude to the man himself for having had the privilege of seeing him perform four times. At some unpredictable point during each of those perfor...

Re: Photos from the Lucca 2008 Concert

Thank you for these. We were not in any position to get good pictures in Lucca, so these are nice to see.

Re: What song would you want to be added to the set list?

Joan of Arc There Is a War Waiting for the Miracle (it was in some sets, but not currently) Jazz Police In general, I would have liked to hear a bit more from Ten New Songs. I also think an awesome song with which to bring the house down would be "Don't Go Home with Your Hard-On," in place...

Re: Appeal for Balkans date

Well, i didn't really know that you need a visa for Italy! There was plenty of Slovenians and Croats in Lucca, I heard the familiar language from everywhere. Can you go to Bucharest? (Or no - it's also EU?) Yes Tom, Slovenia is in the EU so they can travel, and Croatian citizens (including most Cro...

Appeal for Balkans date

I mentioned this in another thread, but I would like to reiterate it in a separate topic in case anyone from LC's management or band happens to drop in on this site: There are thousands of Leonard Cohen fans in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Kosovo, who are not easily able to...

Of course it was. I wrote 28th by mistake, now corrected.

Re: Lucca (July 27)

Eh, now I feel guilty for mentioning any problems at the show, hijacking the thread from spell, and turning it into a grumble fest. Not my intention. As lorenzob reminded, whatever difficulties some might have experienced at the start of the concert, the music won the evening. It was a great concert...

Re: Lucca (July 27)

Sorry for ruining several songs to you and your wife! I was in that mess, not for my fault, but for the disorganization of the event. I lost half an hour in the wrong line, and many others just like me. Yes, to be fair, it was poorly organized, as I also noted in a separate post of the Lucca set li...

Re: Lucca (July 27)

Was that really you who shouted that? His reply was so cool -- very funny, but sincere. It was a good show, and his voice was in great form. But only mid-way back in the seats, the sound mix was too quiet. Many people arrived late for the show (LC went on stage right around 21:30, as scheduled) and ...

Re: All the SETLISTS (and nothing else!)

Lucca, Italy, 27 July 2008 No surprises here in the set list, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised just how good the man's voice is these days. He has considerably more power than I remember from the 1988 and 1993 tours, especially evident on the older songs. A nice outdoor setting in an old...

Re: Confirmed and tentative fall dates

I hope for the sake of all his fans in Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, etc., who don't easily get EU visas, he will choose Belgrade or Zagreb over Ljubljana.
