Re: New tribute album by Marcin Styczeń (Poland)

Unfortunately these versions have very little common with Leonard Cohen's message and I don't know if you want to advertise them here. There are some fine translations among them, but they are picked to make just a christian song album. At last three of them (Going Home, It Seemed the Better Way and...

Re: Meet ups in Berlin?

So dissapointed that I couldn't make it to the meet-up... To many plans for one day and very bad luck - we were even late to the concert. :(
See you guys next time!

Re: Meet ups in Berlin?

Hello,
Does the meetup in Schleusenkrug remain relevant? Can I bring a guitar there? We could sing something. :)

Re: Munich, October6

Yes, such repeating can be disappointing a bit. I had the same feeling on the second concert I attended. Fantastic words I've heard the first time became a stage-managed skit. But there are so much shows, so much work and tiredness. There aren't many people attending more than one gig. If you do so,...

Re: Lyrics changes

You have the new lyrics for Bird in other thread here: http://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11928 Thanks for the link and explanations. Also, it always struck me as very odd that Leonard chose to change the sex of the person giving shelter. Polish translator, Maciej Zembaty (the...

Re: Lyrics changes

Thank You, Hydriot. But I don't mean exactly "changing French words". I mean that the words: "But I've many friends And some of them are with me" on Warsaw concert were replaced by some French lyrics. The question is: What these new lyrics are exactly and does our Poet use them d...

Lyrics changes

Did anyone have opportunity to remember exactly or chronicle changed verses in the second refrain of "Bird on the Wire"? It was something about longing - the meaning was: "The longing is for long to you") Leonard Cohen used these words on the recent concerts. And more difficult t...

Why nothing from "Dear Heather"?

Hello! I'd like to raise a matter of repertoire prepared for the tour. Did anybody wonder (or maybe someone knows) why our Poet doesn't sing any song from the recent album? I know that it was put together from old unpublished pieces of work, but it contains a fantastic material and at least a couple...

Re: 1 October, Warsaw

I wish Leonard Cohen had sung Sisters Of Mercy . Maybe next time, who knows ??? He sung that Song in Amsterdam, with His eyes turned to the moon... That was one of unforgettable moments. Maybe it's because there wasn't any moon in Warsaw in Torwar, only red digital clock on the wall just opposite t...

Re: 1 October, Warsaw

Here comes my relation. Unfortunately in Polish (don't feel able to translate) - http://blog.schronisko.art.pl/2008/10/o-koncercie-leonarda-cohena-w-warszawie/ It was my second concert after Amsterdam this year. I've been listening to it less emotionally, more calmly, more critically... for a 20-30 ...
